Liste de 116 noms, cardinaux, prélats, prêtres et laïcs influents affiliés en 1976 à la Franc-maçonnerie en Italie. Publiée le 10 août 1976 par le magazine Panorama, puis complétée, le 12 septembre 1978 dans l’Osservatore Politico par le journaliste italien Mino Pecorelli, qui sera assassiné dans la rue dans sa voiture quelques temps plus tard en 1979.

C’est à la suite du scandale qui éclata en Italie à l’occasion de la publication en 1976 dans Panorama de cette première liste de Prélats Francs-Maçons, que Paul VI se sentit obligé d’envoyer, immédiatement et sans explications en exil à Téhéran en tant que « pro-nonce apostolique », Annibale Bugnini, l’inventeur de la nouvelle messe. Pourtant Mgr Bugnini venait d’être élevé à la dignité d’Archevêque.

Le nom de chaque individu est suivi de sa position officielle lorsqu’elle est connue, de la date de son initiation et immatriculation dans les registres de la Franc-Maçonnerie en Italie, ainsi que de son numéro matricule(#), et de son nom de code lorsqu’il est connu.

La liste est par ordre alphabétique. Donc elle ne commence pas par les personnages les plus intéressants. Mais j’attire votre attention sur la présences des cardinaux français Liénart et Villot, des Cardinaux Suenens, Bea (le confesseur de Pie XII !) de Casaroli et autres sommités du concile et de la politique d’ouverture au communisme et à la franc-maçonnerie.
