Puisqu'on fait référence à Innocent IV Ad extirpanda, j'ajoute que cette bulle :
- n'est pas adressée à l'Eglise universelle mais aux tribunaux civils de Lombardie
- est proclamée à une époque où la torture est pratiquée par tous les tribunaux civils
- pose surtout des restrictions à l'emploi de la torture.
- ne l'envisage que dans le seul cas où il s'agit de faire confesser son hérésie à un hérétique (je rappelle que la vraie liberté religieuse autorise la contrainte envers l'hérétique)
- n'entre dans aucune considération morale sur la justification de cette pratique ni ne veut définir un dogme...
