La traduction anglaise fournie donne le sens général:
'[The "Gherardinians"] represent the line of Monsignor Brunero Gherardini's position that passages disputed between Rome and Econe in the documents of Vatican II can, of course. be discussed.',
mais dans le processus nécessaire de correction élague trop sévèrement l'original. Mieux serait :
[The "Gherardinians"], following the line of Monsignor Brunero Gherardini, take the stance that none of the passages disputed between Rome and Econe in the documents of Vatican II is sacrosanct, and that in consequence all such passages can of course be discussed.
