Le Cardinal Sarah a été nommé le 24 novembre 2014 à la congrégation pour le culte divin. Il aurait donc encore jusqu'à 2019 si la même règle lui est appliquée.

Les cardinaux-préfets sont-ils nommés pour cinq ans ? Cela m'étonne.

Clarin, journal argentin, a annoncé, dès le 25 juin, le départ du cardinal Muller.

Ce journal parle de tous les désaccords entre le Pape et le cardinal Muller, et nous dit aussi que le cardinal américain Sean O'Malley pourrait lui succéder, tout en évoquant d'autres noms, comme celui de Victor Manuel Tucho Fernandez,recteur de l'Université catholique argentine,qui est un théologien proche du Pape.

L'information à propos du débarquement du cardinal Müller est notamment confirmée par Edward Pentin qui cite une source proche de la Congrégation pour la doctrine de la foi.

Selon America Magazine, revue des jésuites des Etats-Unis, cela est entièrement lié à la position traditionnelle de Müller sur la communion aux divorcés « remariés ».
