sur <catholic world report /ignatius insight> une prospective démographique intéressante, pourvu qu'il y ait suffisamment de prêtres tradis hispanophones:
This week at Catholic World Report, you’ll find Jeff Ziegler’s report on the growing influence Latinos are having on the Catholic Church in the US, “The Coming Latino Catholic Majority.” In addition to representing more than 70 percent of the growth in the US Catholic population over the last 50 years, Hispanics also form the majority of Catholics under 35, and the majority of US Catholics will be Hispanic in the decades to come.
It is clear that the future of the Catholic Church in America will in large part depend on the devotion and enthusiasm of the Hispanic faithful. As Los Angeles’ Archbishop Jose Gomez put it, “America needs our Hispanic Catholic witness for the renewal of her national soul. To the beautiful Puritan idea of America as the ‘city upon a hill,’ we need to propose in our evangelization a beautiful Hispanic-Catholic vision of America as El Camino Real, the King’s Highway.”
